The CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security provides a unique work environment that offers the advantages of a university department and a research laboratory alike. As the latest member of the Helmholtz Association, the largest research organization in Germany, CISPA has embarked on a mission: to rethink the digitized world of the future from the ground up and make it safer through innovative cutting-edge research. In the medium term, the center will grow to more than 800 employees with 60 Faculty and research group leaders. 

A new institutional cooperation between CISPA, Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) and the state of Lower Saxony was established recently and is physically located in Hannover.

that hold a doctoral degree in computer science or related areas and have an outstanding research track record in all areas related to industrial cybersecurity, especially in, but not limited to applications in

       Security in Industry 4.0

       Embedded Security / IoT Security

       Critical infrastructure security

       Security of autonomous systems

       Smart City/ Smart Port

       Automotive security

       5G Security

The research group will be established in the course of the ongoing year and include the group leader position and an attractive package for personnel, supplies and investments. Research Group Leaders are granted the opportunity to teach graduate and undergraduate courses at LUH. All applicants are expected to build up a research team that pursues an internationally visible research agenda.

The positions as research group leader are limited up to 5 years with a full-time contract. We are open to discuss during and after this period, with very successful candidates, further promotion options.  Work location is Hannover, regular meetings will take place in Saarbrücken. Remuneration and benefits are in accordance with the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD Bund). Remuneration will be in accordance with salary scale grades, up to the E15 grade depending on the candidate’s qualifications and responsibilities.
